Description

Smith & Wesson is the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. The corporate headquarters is in Springfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1852, Smith & Wesson's pistols and revolvers have become standard issue to police and armed forces throughout the world. They are also used by sport shooters and have been featured in numerous Hollywood movies, particularly Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry. Smith & Wesson has been known for the many types of ammunition it has introduced over the years, and many cartridges bear the company's name.

I have seven S&W's (very much my favorite gun maker), an M642 in 38sp+P which is my wife's carry gun, an M&P (full size) in 45 which is my carry gun, an M686 in 357 and a M29 44mag both 4" and both of which reside in my safe and have never been shot (but they sure are pretty!); a 1911 which I use for USPSA Limited 10 competition, an M&P in 22 which I plink and practice with and an M&P AR-15 in 223/556 which I use for multigun/3 gun matches.

I've been shooting S&W's since 1974. My firtst was aModel 29 that I still have. I also have a pair of 25-2's A pair of 10's. Theo 586's and a 686. I've won six national IPSC revolver awards, before Miculek, with a comped 586 and a comped 25-2.

They are great revolvers and I hope to shoot many more before I am done.

I own two S&W firearms. One is my old service revolver from my LEO days, a Model 2505 .45 cal, and a BodyGuard .380 semiauto. I've had the 25-5 since mid/late 70s.
