Don't let the "Duty" designation trick you.  The P-07 model Is a compact sized handgun, just as appropriate for concealed carry as it is for uniformed duty.  The abbreviated 3.8" barrel and compact grip allow the Duty to disappear under clothing much more easily than full sized models. This compact size and polymer frame along with the new slide profile (fully machined from bar stock) reduce weight, making the P-07 Duty a great choice for concealed carry. Easily adaptable to low light use, the Duty features an accessory rail to which a light or laser can be attached.
When designing the polymer frame for the Duty, the decision was made to retain the basic grip shape (circumference, angle, etc.) so popular In the CZ 75 family of handguns.  The polymer frame platform eliminated the need for the grip panels that are used on most steel and alloy framed autos.  The absence of the grips resulted In some available space that was used to Increase the magazine capacity by 2 rounds.  The results speak for themselves, the flush fitting magazine of the P-07 Duty holds the same number of rounds that the full sized versions of the CZ 75 do in both 9mm and .40 S&W.

The most innovative feature of the P-07 duty is the Omega trigger system.  The new mechanism was first Introduced on the P-07 model. It simplifies the CZ 75 trigger system, uses fewer parts and improves the trigger pull, but the real story is in the versatility it provides for it's owner. The Omega system allows users to choose between operating the handgun with a decocking lever (installed) or a manual safety (included) by a simple parts change.

My first handgun... And Loving it!!

This gun came to existence inspired by the design of the Berretta 92, which was the first handgun I ever shot. I believe in first impressions and I think this is why I find the CZ so familiar.

During my research process I tried lost of different models and calibers. In most cases, particular with the very popular Glock, I would have to adjust my grip to fit my hand, but I noticed there would always be some minor space left between the thumb safety and the web of my hand, making it harder to handle recoil vertically. I had almost made my mind on the S&W M&P C 9mm, based on a couple of customer reviews and videos I had found online, so I decided to go rent one and try it out, but my experience with it was far from what the girl in the video had said.

The first time I held the CZ, my hand fit perfectly around the grip, so I knew I was on the right path. The grip is not too rough, but it provides enough contact. And it is big enough that a pinky extension is not necessary, at least for me. This particular part also makes it very easy to draw, since the magazine doesn’t “hook” clothing on its way out of the holster.

This pistol comes standard with an outlined rear sight. I particularly don’t like it, and it doesn’t glow in the dark. Since y intention for this gun is self and home defense, I would find it difficult to target in the dark. I will eventually change the sights or add a laser. Also, as of right now, this gun is shooting low. I expect that by changing/readjusting the sights I’ll be able to fix this issue with out having to compensate my aiming.

Not having cleaned a gun before in my life, I was a little concern that I would not be able to put it back together. But thanks to YouTube and a shooter friend, the process was a breeze, and far simpler than what I was expecting. My only advice for first time cleaners would be, careful with the pin and spring. If those two decide to spring away from you, and you are in a place with grooved floors (deck) and open windows, it will become a big, expensive, and frustrating problem.

Although not a very popular brand, making it hard to find accessories made specifically this make AND model, I’ve found the dimensions of the CZ P07 are similar to those of the Glock 20, and that’s what I did when I purchased my OWB leather holster (review and listing will follow). This was a used gun purchase, but it was in perfect condition, so the price really made up for it.

Pro's
Thinner, straighter grip to accommodate shorter fingers.
Lower and more curved thumb safety, to fit smaller frame hands better.
Small enough to conceal in purse for women, or IWB with loose fitting clothing.
Easy disassembly for clean up.
Very manageable recoil.
Con's
Standard outlined rear sight.
Compact enough to conceal in purse or car, but not for a small woman to CC on body.
Long trigger.
Not a popular brand, so parts and accessories tend to be on the expensive side, and hard to find.
