I started out my weekend on Friday.  A trip to my parent's house with a few guns.  The key part of this trip was finally having the chance to try out the newest addition to the collection, an EAA Bunda semi-auto 12ga.  My father threw a few clays and loading a single shell at a time I was hitting 9/10, if functioned very well with very low felt recoil and the only concern being a very sensitive trigger.  After a few rounds of this, I decided to do skip the doubles and try some triples.  So I loaded 3 shells, my father threw 3 birds, I took bead on the first and squeezed the trigger, and the shotgun fired, but sounded a little odd, not that I really had time to react to that as I lined up on the second bird and....click.   nothing.  I looked at my dad, he looked at me, and we both turned to look at the gun.  the problem wasn't that the second round didn't fire, the problem was that it fired all 3 rounds at an insanely high rate at the first bird with one pull of the trigger that we barely noticed.  A few tries later and we learned that the trigger is SO sensitive that the recoil lightly bounces the gun off my shoulder enough to effectively bump-fire on its own.  it doesn't do it every time, but often enough that the gun will not be functionally capable of being my new turkey gun unless I can replace the trigger spring.  

 

Saturday was a different story, after 10 hours in a classroom, I have passed my NRA RSO course with a 100% score.   Now all I need to do is join a range where I can actually make use of it.  

I set a reminder to buy starbucks coffee on that day. Since I will be on my was to work I can't carry, but I will be sure to let them know I am there as part of the counter-protest. I'd love to see them post record sales on that day just because of the protest.

Congrats. Hearing this makes me glad to be in PA, I walked into the Sheriff's office, filled out a 5x7 card and had my picture taken, a standard background check and one week later I had my carry permit.
